Sabers Triumph Over Isanti Outlaws in Thrilling 7-5 Victory at USPHL Las Vegas Showcase

In a high-scoring and action-packed encounter at the 2nd annual USPHL Las Vegas Showcase, the San Diego Sabers emerged victorious against the Isanti Outlaws with a final score of 7-5. 

The Sabers got off to a strong start in the opening period, setting the tone for the game. Forward Heskett opened the scoring on the power play at 10:17, followed closely by Frizado just seconds later, giving San Diego an early 2-0 lead. Isanti's Pankovsky and Parnell responded with two quick goals, leveling the score. However, the Sabers regained the lead with goals from Frizado and Ouellet, both assisted by Paganini, ending the first period with a 4-2 advantage for San Diego.



The second period saw the Sabers extending their lead with another goal from Frizado at 11:44. Despite Isanti's efforts, the period remained relatively disciplined, with only a couple of penalties on both sides.

The third period showcased the resilience of both teams. Isanti's Orr and Parnell scored on power plays, closing the gap to 5-4. The Sabers responded with goals from Gradin and Paganini on their power plays, re-establishing a comfortable lead. Isanti's Schmitt narrowed the margin with a goal at 16:01, but the Sabers held on to secure the 7-5 victory.



Goaltenders played a crucial role in the game, with Isanti's Sucher making 30 saves out of 37 shots, and the Sabers' St-Denis-Lacombe making 36 saves out of 41 shots.

The teams were active on special teams, with the Sabers capitalizing on four power plays out of seven opportunities, while Isanti converted on both of their power plays.

The San Diego Sabers' Frizado and Paganini were instrumental in the victory, contributing to multiple goals each. The team's power play efficiency and solid goaltending secured a thrilling win, delighting fans in attendance at the City National Arena.
