Sabers defend the beach against Shredders

Saturday, February 12 Game Recap: 

The Sabers came out ready to play Saturday as they beat the Shredders 8-1, scoring five straight goals. Led by Jonathan Gosselin scoring two goals on the night, scoring his 9th and 10th goals on the season. Adam Wedberg continues to stay hot having a four-point night with one goal and three assists, Wedbergs one goal on the night puts him at 24 on the season. Goaltender Filip Plars had a very solid performance in net making 28 saves on 29 shots and only allowing one goal. The Sabers had a good night on the powerplay as well, scoring two goals on two powerplay attempts. 

The Shredders had a tough night, the lone goal scorer Jacob Saegner scored his 17th goal of the season in the second period, it was assisted by Aleksandr Urusov his seventh assist on the season. Shredders goaltender Everett Bailey had an unfortunate night allowing six goals on 48 shots but still making 40 saves. 

Sunday, February 13 Game Recap:

The Sabers swept the weekend series winning the second game of the weekend by a score of 5-1. Elias Lindstrom had a strong night scoring two goals, scoring his 7th and 8th goals of the season. Oscar Sjostedt and Jonathan Gosselin both had two assists on the night. Gosselin with his 4th and 5th assist on the year and Sjostedt with his 5th and 6th for the year. Filip Plars had yet another great outing in net making 26 saves on 27 shots and again only allowing one goal. 

The Shredders lose this weekend series against the Sabers. The lone goal scorer on the night was Bryce Cooper scoring his 10th goal of the year. The goal was assisted by Carter Zaworthy, his 18th assist of the year, and Skyler Bowers his 5th assist of the year. Everett Bailey was given the loss and also started in goal, allowing four goals on 22 shots and making 18 saves. But later in the game, Jean Berhaduin came in relief for the remainder of the game and put on a strong performance only allowing one goal on 39 shots and making 38 saves.
