Mario Paganini, a forward, has been acquired by the San Diego Sabers from the Richmond Generals, the team announced today.

Paganini is a native of Harrison, New York, and began playing hockey as a youngster with the Connecticut Jr Rangers before moving on to the United States Premier Hockey League.

In just 16 games played while competing for the Connecticut Jr. Rangers 18U AAA in the USPHL 18U, he scored 48 points.

“Mario's acquisition and relocation to San Diego have us ecstatic,” said Head Coach Tyler Casillo. “He is a top-tier athlete who, in our opinion, will have an immediate impact on the ice this coming weekend.”

Your San Diego Sabers return home this weekend as they take on the Las Vegas Thunderbirds at Icetown Carlsbad, 2283 Cosmos Ct, Carlsbad, CA 92011. Puck drops on Friday at 1:30 PM, Saturday at 8 PM, and Sunday at 1 PM. Food trucks will be on-site for both Saturday and Sunday.
