Ludvig Nilsson becomes third Saber to sign pro in Sweden

by San Diego Sabers

The San Diego Sabers 2001-born defenseman, Ludvig Nilsson, signs with Viggbyholms IK of Hockeytvåan (Division 2) and becomes the third Saber from this past season to sign a professional contract in Sweden.

Ludvig played a large role in the Sabers' success during the 2021 - 2022 season as he obtained nineteen goals and twenty-seven assists in only thirty-six games played. This placed him second on the leaderboard for the Sabers behind his teammate Adam Wedberg, who also signed pro with Viggbyholms IK earlier this month.

"Ludvig is an entertaining athlete to have compete for you and is a joy to watch," said General Manager Domenick DiCicco. "He's a triple threat as a defenseman with his physicality, solid defense, and offensive precision. He's a hard worker who brings a high energy level every time he steps on the ice."

The San Diego Sabers would like to congratulate Ludvig and his family on this accomplishment and wish him all the best on and off the ice next season with Viggbyholms IK.
