Ethan Blackburn commits to Duquesne University

Congratulations to Sabers goalie Ethan Blackburn who has committed to Duquesne University for the 2023-2024 season.

Ethan had an impressive last season with the Sabers. Ethan finished the regular season with a save percentage of .929 after fifteen wins and only four losses. Ethan also gained quite a reputation after being named Goalie of the Month and Goalie of the Week multiple times in the Pacific Division.

“Ethan is one of the best goalies I have ever coached, coming into the season Ethan stepped up and lead our team to some huge series wins against Fresno, and Vegas," said Sabers Head Coach Tyler Casillo. "Ethan stepped up whenever we needed him to and was a real wall in the net. Ethan also was an outstanding leader in the locker room. Duquesne is getting an outstanding goalie and a great teammate. I can’t wait to see Ethan dominate next season as well.”

If you're interested in joining the San Diego Sabers, the upcoming 2023 NCDC Camp held April 14-16 is an excellent opportunity to get ahead of the competition. The camp will feature a skills workshop, beach workouts, strength evaluations, and three guaranteed games. Coaches from P.A.L. Junior Islanders, Harvard Men's Hockey, and San Diego State Hockey will be in attendance.
