Team Records:

  • San Diego Sabers: 15-5-1
  • Long Beach Shredders: 5-17-2

Sabers Notes:

The Sabers welcome the Shredders for this one-game weekend at home. They currently stand in a great position as second place in the Pacific still in the race for first place coming off of a sweep last weekend. They want to remain hot and continue their fight in this tough division. This will be the second time they face Long Beach this season where the first matchup saw a 10-1 win by San Diego.

Shredders Notes:

The Shredders have had a disappointing season up to this point however things have been clicking for them later as they are currently on a 2-game win streak. They are anxious to play San Diego again as last time ended in a blowout loss but this team is coming off of a 7-goal win so it will be interesting to see how the two match up.

Who To Watch:

For the Sabers, Michal Novak and Mario Paganini are tied for the number one scorer on the team with 32 points each. Novak is one of three skaters on the team with double-digit goals with 18 and 14 assists. Paganini is the second with 14 goals and 18 assists in 2 fewer games. These two have been hot all season and are ready to put on a show for the home crowd.

For the Shredders, Yuri Stalev and Nathan Compton are the two leading goal scorers for the team. Stalev has scored 15 goals and 16 assists this year and leads the team with 31 points while on a 4-game goal streak where he has scored 6. Compton is second in goals with 11 and 16 assists.
